NCU Held a Workshop on Learning about the Report to the 20th CPC National Congress for Teachers and Students

In the afternoon of October 20, NCU held a workshop on learning about the report to the 20th CPC National Congress for teachers and students. Representatives of teachers and students, based on what they’ve learned from the report, shared and exchanged their feelings and understanding of the report. Yu Xiaoshe, Secretary of the Party Committee of NCU, presided over the workshop and delivered a speech.    

“The report delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping is inspiring and motivating. I will closely align myself with the CPC Central Committee in terms of political stance, further develop my sense of responsibility, focus on teaching and educating others, stay true to the mission of establishing moral education, continuously improve the quality of talent training, solidly promote scientific and technological innovation, devote myself to building China’s self-reliance and strength in science and technology, facilitate the development of disciplines, and work tirelessly for the high-quality development of NCU and Jiangxi.”    

“In the future, I will fulfill my duties under the guidance of the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress, improve my accomplishment in politics and ideology, apply the theories learned to the practice, seek truth while staying down-to-earth, keep forging ahead, seriously deal with the relationships between affairs and causes, positions and stances, and emotions and sentiments, constantly care about the people, and do a solid job at the grassroots level.”    

“As a university teacher and ideological and political worker, I am deeply responsible and honored with my mission. I’ll make sure I’m ideologically correct, adhere to the Party spirit, promise not to make mistakes on professional ethics, stay true to the original aspiration and mission, teach and educate students with great concentration, make great efforts to promote ideological work, reveal the full implications of the new era, interpret the new thought well, tell the stories of NCU, and gather energy for the reform and development of the university.”    

“As a backbone member of the Graduate Student Union of NCU and a member of Camphor Voice of Doctors Publicity Team, I’ll earnestly study and understand the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress, carry out publicity activities among peers, combine professional practices with the publicity for theoretical knowledge, actively devote myself to joint publicity activities, inaugurate training program for backbone graduate students, and make the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress well understood by graduate students.”    

Pan Bingxing, Executive Deputy Director of the Faculty of Medicine and Director of the Institute of Life Sciences, Xiong Tao, Executive Deputy Director of State Key Laboratory of Food Science & Technology, Zheng Lu, Director of the Graduate Student Work Department of the Party Committee and the Dean of School of Arts, Liu Jianguang, Secretary of the Party Committee of Architecture & Design College, Mei Bohan, a full-time instructor of graduate students, Qu Zhensheng, a master degree candidate enrolled in the School of Pharmacy in 2021, Wang Zhengyu, an undergraduate student enrolled in the School of Humanities in 2020, and Liao Xinxuan, Deputy Director of the Publicity Department of the Party Committee and Director of the Press Center shared their thoughts and feelings on the report to the 20th CPC National Congress.    

Yu Xiaoshe pointed out that General Secretary Xi Jinping’s report, boarder in perspective, far-reaching in meaning, upholds fundamental principles and breaks new ground, carries on the past and opens a new way for future, and fully reflects the Marxist truth. It is a programmatic document that conforms to the common aspiration of the whole Party, the entire military, and the Chinese people of all ethnic groups, accords with the laws that underlie governance by a communist party, the development of socialism, and the evolution of human society, and is in keeping with the fundamental requirements of socialism with Chinese characteristics. And it is also a mobilization order for a new journey to build a modern socialist country and a rallying cry for all to take the new long march.    

Yu Xiaoshe stressed that teachers and students shall closely align themselves with the CPC Central Committee in terms of political stance and continue to follow the trend to learn, publicize and implement the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress. It is necessary to adhere to the profound understanding and comprehensive grasp of the spirit and gist of the report to the 20th CPC National Congress, steadily let the spirit of the Congress come into textbooks, classes and students’ minds, and create a good atmosphere of true learning, deep learning and profound understanding. It is essential to adhere to moral education, align the spirit of the Congress with the whole process of education, integrate the spirit into the ideological and political curriculum, the curriculum ideology and politics, and the routine ideology and politics from a perspective of the overall development of the cause of the Party and the nation, and reflect the spirit in all aspects including discipline system, teaching system, management system, etc. It is crucial to shoulder the responsibility and consciously carry forward the spirit of the Congress. Young students should strive to become the pillars of our nation, align their personal aspirations with the Chinese dream of achieving the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, and become the men of the times who assume the great responsibility of national rejuvenation.    

Faculty and staff representatives from the Youth League Committee, the Teachers’ Work Department of the Party Committee, the Academic Affairs Office, the School of Journalism & Communication, the School of Public Policy and Administration and the School of Marxism attended the workshop together with student representatives.
