In order to further expand the brand influence of “Study in China” and deepen educational and people-to-people exchanges between China and Indonesia, the Seventeenth “Study in China” Education Exhibition, organized by Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange, was successfully held in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, on October 17. This exhibition was attended by 21 Chinese mainland universities and institutions, including Fudan University, Nanjing University, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Jinan University, and Nanchang University (NCU).
At the opening ceremony, Zhou Kan, Charge d'Affaires ad Interim and Minister of the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia; Xia Jianhui, deputy director of the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange; and Yayat Hendayana, coordinator for cooperation, public relations, and general affairs and directorate general of higher education, research, and technology of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of Indonesia, delivered speeches and announced the opening of the education exhibition with a gong.
The exhibition attracted more than 2000 Indonesian students and parents. A continuous stream of students and parents came to the booth of Nanchang University for consultation, many of them showing intention of studying at NCU. Zhou Kan, Charge d'Affaires ad Interim and Minister of the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia, and Xia Jianhui, deputy director of the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange, visited our school’s booth to inspect and guide the work.
In recent years, in response to China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), NCU actively joins China-ASEAN educational exchanges, and promotes interactions among students as well as cooperation among universities, contributing to the education brand of “Study in China” and “Study in NCU”. This exhibition has greatly accelerated the “going global” of China’s higher education, opening a new chapter for jointly building the Belt and Road with higher quality and at a higher level.
