Handling of Residence Permit

Students entering China with an X2 visa for a study period of no more than 180 days are not required to obtain a residence permit.

Students who hold an X1 visa, or who hold an X2 visa with a study period exceeding 180 days, must apply for a study-type residence permit within 30 days of entry. The University reserves the right to refuse any visa or residence-permit application from students who have outstanding fees.

To apply for a residence permit, international students must submit a personal medical examination report, a copy of the passport and visa pages, a copy of Confirmation Form for Study in China, the admission letter, and other required documents, and then go to the Immigration Service Hall of Nanchang Public Security Bureau.

If falsification—such as the use of forged documents—is discovered during the visa or residence-permit application process, the University will impose disciplinary sanctions in accordance with its regulations and revoke all previously awarded scholarships or honors. Violations of Chinese laws and regulations will be referred to the competent authorities for legal liability.
