Blazing through a century of hardships and difficulties, we never abandon our deep-seated commitment to education. On June 20, Nanchang University held the 2020 Joint Conference of President and Secretary General of NCU Local (Industry) Alumni Association.. The main theme of this conference is to trace the University’s cultural inheritance of a century, discuss the coming 100th Anniversary Celebration, gather the alumni across the globe and empower the University a promising future.129 alumni representatives from 40 alumni associations met on Qianhu Campus to celebrate the friendships and share ideas regarding the centennial birthday of their alma mater. Zhou Chuangbing, president of Nanchang University and of the General NCU Alumni Association, presided over the conference.
The Centennial Anniversary is a great timing for Nanchang University to link the past to the future and march further forward, an important platform for summing up past experiences and passing on the spirit of the university, a vital opportunity to showcase the achievements of both the University and its alumni, and to build morale, and at last but not least, a significant starting point for the University to secure a historical position and become an exemplary first-class university.
Yu Xiaoshe, secretary of the Party Committee of Nanchang University, reviewed its 100-year history, summarized its achievements, and looked forward to the pursuit of goals in the new century. He called on teachers, students and alumni to build consensus, look forward to the future and march forward steadily and bravely. The centennial anniversary is an event that will help increase our sense of pride, enhance our sense of mission, and strengthen our sense of responsibility.It will speed up the pace of building Nanchang University into a world-class one in the the new era full of great changes.In the end, vice president Zhu Xiaoli introduced the preparatory work of Nanchang University's Centennial Anniversary in terms of its purpose, theme, positioning, principles, work stages, projects and activities.

Jiangxi Alumni Enterprise Association president Yang Jian, Hunan Alumni Association president Zhang Jian, Shenzhen Alumni Association president Hong Bo spoke successively, expressing their deep gratitude to the alma mater for its cultivation on behalf of all the alumni, and showing the determination they have to help the reform and development of the alma mater.
This joint conference was hosted by Nanchang University Alumni (General) Association, undertaken by Nanchang University Jiangxi Alumni Enterprise Association, and co-organized by Jiangxi Branch of China Construction Bank. Compared with previous years, the conference of this year was held at a higher standard and attended by a larger number of people. The arrival of alumni from all over the world is a symbol of their love and dedication to the development of the alma mater. The principle of making the celebration a “festive, solemn, moderate, and confident” one is upheld, the unique position of the celebration, which is celebrating for humanity, academy and alumni,will also be highlighted.Ten major projects including Huankui Academy, Museum of Alumni, and Student Activity Center are planned to be built. And ten events including the 100th Anniversary Celebration Evening Gala, Comprehensive Achievement Exhibition of Nanchang University's One-hundred Year History, Forum on International Academic Exchanges and Education will be held. It is aimed to build an influential 100th Anniversary Celebration that is of academic essence and distinctive features, that can boost the future of Nanchang University.
