On September 26,the 2022 CI Moments Global Short Video Collection Eventheld by Chinese International Education Foundation achieved successfully. In this year’s event, 3 Grand Prizes, 6 First Prizes, 10 Second Prizes, 21 Third Prizes, 60 Merit Awards, and 12 Viewers’Choice Awards were finally determined.“My Magic Paintbrush”, a videofrom the Confucius Institute co-established by NCU and the University of CastillaLa Mancha in Spain, won the First Prize.“My Confucius Institute–My Home”,another video from the same Confucius Institute, won the Third Prize. AdelaCalatayudVimbela(Chinese name: Wen Xin), a student from the Confucius Institute, was awarded the title of“CI Talent”. The prize-winning videos in this event will be continuously broadcast on the portal website of the Confucius Institute (https://ci.cn).

“My Magic Paintbrush”tells the story of AdelaCalatayudVimbela, a Spanish girl who loves Chinese painting and calligraphy. She is like the legend of Ma Liang, and gets a magic paintbrush that can make everything she draws come to life. The video shows traditional Chinese costumes and Chinese painting and calligraphy culture through a witty and humorous approach, reflecting Spanish students’love for traditional Chinese culture.

“My Confucius Institute–My Home”focuses on the story between LucíaGarcía Díazand the Confucius Institute (LucíaGarcía Díazis the winner of the global championship of“Chinese Bridge”Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign Secondary Students in 2021). Her video tells personal growth story of a Chinese language learner while showing the rich and diverse Chinese culture and real and vivid life of Confucius Institute.

AdelaCalatayudVimbelawas awarded the title of“CI Talent”in 2022with her fluent Chinese and talents in calligraphy and paintingshownin“My Magic Paintbrush”.“I have been studying Chinese for four years, and everything has become different in these four years,”she said in her prize speech.

Since its establishment in 2017, the Confucius Institute at the University of Castilla La Mancha has always taken teaching quality and student growth as the lifeblood of the development of Confucius Institute. It has launched special cultural courses, such as painting, calligraphy, and cucurbit flute, which are popular among students.
