Chinese Government Scholarship

In order to promote the mutual understanding, cooperation and exchanges in politics, economics, culture, education and trade between China and other countries, the Chinese government has set up a series of scholarship programs to sponsor international students, teachers and scholars to study and research in Chinese universities.

Ⅰ. The Scholarship covers the following items:

1. Full Scholarship

Tuition Fees: The tuition is coordinated and used by the university for the cultivation and management of scholarship students, as well as for organizing or supporting scholarship students to carry out cultural and sports activities, visits, parties, etc.

Accommodation Fees: free university dormitories or accommodation subsidies.

If the scholarship students live in campus, university will accommodate them in university dormitories (usually twin rooms); if they choose to live off campus, university will provide monthly or quarterly accommodation subsidies.

Stipend:

Within the scholarship duration, registered scholarship students will receive stipend from Nanchang University month by month. Students registering before the 15th of the month (the 15th is included) will receive full stipend of that month.

Students registering after the 15th of the month will receive half stipend of that month. Students who are going to graduate will receive stipend half a month after the graduation date determined by the university.

If registered student stays out of China for more than 15 days (school holidays excluded), his/her stipend will be stopped during his leaving.

2.Partial Scholarship

One or some items of the full scholarship.

Ⅱ. Requirements

be a citizen of a country other than the Peoples Republic of China, and be in good physical and mental health;

be a high school graduate under the age of 25 when applying for undergraduate programs;

be a bachelors degree holder under the age of 35 when applying for masters programs;

be a masters degree holder under the age of 40 when applying for doctoral programs;

The teaching language is Chinese. Priority will be given to applicants with HSK4 level or above. Those who do not meet the required Chinese level must take a one-year Chinese courses at a preparatory university designated by the China Scholarship Council, and students can enter into professional studies until they attain HSK4. The scholarship will be covered during the Chinese language year and professional studies period.

Ⅲ. Application Methods

1.Applicants use the international students'online application system(https://lxnd.ncu.edu.cn/) to fill in all the required information and submit documentsNanchang University will conduct a preliminary qualification review for applicants andthen arrange interviews for those who meet the requirements. Those who pass theinterview will receive a pre-admission notice or acceptance letter issued by NanchangUniversity.

2. Register and submit the online application on the CSC Online Application System forInternational Students(www.csc.edu.cn/laihua), and upload all the applicationmaterials. Make sure you type in the correct Agency Number(the Agency Number ofNanchang University is 10403) when selecting the "ProgramCategory".

Ⅳ. Application Documents (in duplicate)

1.Passport Information Page

Submit the first page of your passport. If the validity of your current passport is less than one year, please renew it promptly.

2.Highest Educational Qualification Certificate (Notarized)

If you are a current student, you must submit a certificate of expected graduation or a current enrollment certificate issued by your school.

3.Academic Transcripts (Starting from Undergraduate Level)

Transcripts must be issued and stamped by the relevant academic affairs office, graduate school, or student affairs department of your university. You may provide transcripts in Chinese or English. If the language is other than English, an additional notarized English translation is required.

4.Language Proficiency Certificate

Applicants who intend to study in Chinese must provide a valid HSK (Chinese Proficiency Test) score report that meets the required Chinese language proficiency level.

5.Preliminary Admission Notice and Letter of Acceptance from Nanchang University Supervisor

Provide the preliminary admission notice and a letter of acceptance from the supervisor at Nanchang University.

6.Study Plan in China

Submit a study plan in Chinese or English (more than 1,000 words). For doctoral students, the study plan must be signed by the Chinese supervisor. The study plan should be written only in Chinese or English.

7.Recommendation Letters

Submit two recommendation letters from professors or associate professors. The content should focus on the applicant's study goals in China, the cooperation between the Chinese university/supervisor and the foreign university/supervisor, or the inter-university exchange situation, as well as an evaluation of the student's comprehensive abilities and future development. The letters should be written only in Chinese or English.

8.Personal Works (for Art and Design Applicants)

Applicants for art, design, or related fields should upload personal works (such as videos, paintings, etc.) through the "Works/Other Supporting Materials" section. Alternatively, you may provide the works in other ways as required by the applying institution.

9.Copy of the Foreigner's Physical Examination Form

Keep the original form and submit a copy. This form is uniformly printed by the Chinese health quarantine department and must be filled out in English. Applicants must undergo all the required medical examinations as specified in the form. The form will be invalid if it is incomplete, lacks a personal photo, or does not have the physician's and hospital's signatures and seals. The medical examination results are valid for six months.

10.Certificate of No Criminal Record

Applicants must submit a certificate of no criminal record issued by the local public security authorities, which should be within six months of the application date.


Ⅴ. Placement & Scholarship Confirmation

1. Application documents of recommended candidates from the Embassy will be considered by CSC for eligibility and qualification. Ineligible or incomplete applications will not be considered.

2. Qualified applications will be sent to Nanchang University. Candidates who are rejected by Nanchang University will not be granted with scholarship.

3. CSC will review the selected results and send the admission documents to overseas institutions before July 31. Each recipient of the scholarship can only receive one scholarship.

4. The diplomatic missions will send the admission documents (Admission Letter and Visa Application Form for Study in China (JW201) to the Embassy or recipients of the scholarship.

5. Recipients of the scholarship shall not change their host universities unless they give up the grant.

6. Scholarship will not be reserved if recipients of the scholarship cannot register before the registration deadline.
