    International and Chinese students of NCU celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival & National Day

    The Mid-AutumnDayis an important festival for theChinesefamily reunion,whilethe National Day is a significant moment for the Chinese people to celebrate the foundinganniversaryof People’sRepublic of China.This year, thetwo festivalsmeet each otheron the same day, symbolizing a precious value thattheChinesepeoplehave longheld- thedestinyof a family is closely tied to the destiny of the nation it belongs to.To strengthen the exchange between Chinese and foreign students and create afriendlyinternational vibe on the campus, the Chinese and foreign student party hosted by the School of International Exchange and undertaken by the Chinese and Foreign Student Exchange Association was successfully held on theLeisure Squareof the Qianhu campuson the evening of September 30.

    Qianhu Campus in the Moonlight- Our Shared Homeis the theme of the party. More than one hundred foreign and Chinese students on the campus experienced the unique charm of the traditional Chinese festival culture through appreciating the customs of the Mid-Autumn Festival and enjoying joint artistic performances. Spending a good time together at the party, many foreign students said that they felt truly grateful and excited that they got to participate in such a joyful celebration in China when the COVID-19 pandemic was still raging in the rest parts of the world. The students continued singing and dancing after the party was over, celebrating their joyful campus life.

    On October 1, international students from Morocco, Pakistan, Jordan, Gabon and other countries also recorded short videos, conveying their best wishes for the National Day and their earnest anticipation for China's better future.

    In the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, the common enemy of mankind, the world needs solidarity and joint efforts more than ever. Therefore, strengthening the exchanges between Chinese and foreign youths is of great significance to the future cooperation of all countries. As General Secretary Xi Jinping replied in his letter to all Pakistani students from University of Science and Technology Beijing in May this year, “China welcomes excellent youth from other countries in the world to study here, and to learn more about the country. I hope that you can communicate more with your Chinese peers and tell the world more about the China you see and that you can join hands with youth from all countries to contribute to promoting people-to-people connectivity and building a community of a shared future for humanity.”
