On the morning of December 8, 2022, theJiangxi Institutions of Higher Education Overseas Exhibition 2022, jointly hosted by the Education Department of Jiangxi Province, the Office of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Government of Jiangxi Province and other departments, was held both online and offline in Nanchang. Centering on national strategies and responding to global concerns, this exhibition, under the theme of“Open Development, Win-win Cooperation”, was held to share the experience and wisdom of international education reform and development and discuss the new opportunities and challenges facing international exchange and cooperation on education.
Guo Jiezhong, director-general of the Education Department of Jiangxi Province, Li Yuqiang, deputy director of theOffice of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Government of Jiangxi Province, Li Xiaozhe, deputy director of the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange, Fu Bo, deputy secretary-general of the China Education Association for International Exchange, and other heads of relevant departments were invited to attend the exhibition and to deliver speeches. Zhuang Luoshan, vice-consul and trade commissioner oftheConsulate Generalof Canada in Guangzhou, and some other invited guests also attended the exhibition and gave speeches. Deng Xiaohua, vice president of NCU, on behalf of Chinese institutions of higher education, delivered a speech and had an interview with the media.
Deng introduced the overview of NCU’s international exchanges and cooperation, presented the university’s achievements in educational exchanges and cooperation with foreign institutions, and depicted the bright vision of carrying out international exchanges and cooperation on education with institutions at home and abroad. He also, on behalf of NCU, signed an Agreement on International Educational Exchanges and Cooperation with Heriot-Watt University. In the afternoon, the Chinese and foreign institutions negotiated specific cooperation projects online. Through the negotiation, NCU reached a consensus with SKEMA Business School in France, University of Kent and Aberystwyth University in the UK, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University in Thailand and City University Malaysia on the preliminary intention to cooperate.
It islearnedthat theexhibitionattracted more than 260 representatives from more than 200 universitiesand collegesinabout20 countries and regions.Through the exhibition, NCU fully demonstrated its charms and characteristics of international education,furtherdevelopedchannelsforinternational education cooperation and exchange,andboosted itsreputation internationally.
